Description

The United States Coast Guard, Civil Engineering Unit Juneau, Alaska is conducting a market survey to determine if commercial sources are available and capable to provide all materials, equipment, common and special tools, travel and incidentals to perform factory recommended major 22,000 hour service, inspection, overhaul and rebuild procedures on three (3) Coast Guard owned Caterpillar model 3512 generator sets located at USCG LORAN Stations Port Clarence, Attu and St. Paul, Alaska as outlined in Caterpillar Publication SEBU6103 or current edition and SEBU 6701 as well as other Caterpillar references and procedures. All parts shall be genuine Caterpillar Tractor Co. parts meeting all manufacturer original equipment specifications. All work shall be performed by a "Caterpillar Qualified" mechanic and must provide a copy of the mechanic's Caterpillar Qualification Card. After completion of the overhaul, test run the engine generator under full load for four hours and verify factory operating specifications. Specific Survey Information Desired: a) Name and addresses (including phone numbers and POCs) of firms interested in and capable of providing these requirements; b) Any contractor restrictions in meeting the requirement. For example indicate if your operations are limited to certain geographical areas; c) Indicate if your firm is a Small or Large Business, HUBZone and/or 8(a). All responses should be submitted by July 20, 2001 to the Contracting Officer, USCG CEU Juneau, P. O. Box 21747, Juneau, AK 99802-1747. This Request for Information (RFI) is issued for the sole purpose of obtaining information from prospective offerors. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL. No solicitation will be issued at this time.
