Description

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS)intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with the National Academy of Sciences (NAS)for a procurement entitled "Study on Medicare Coverage of Routine Thyroid Screening". This procurement will conduct a study on the addition of coverage of routine thyroid screening using a thyroid stmulate hormone test as a preventive benefit provided to Medicare beneficiaries under Title XVIII of the Social Security Act for some or all Medicare beneficiaries. In conducting the study, the Academy shall consider the short-term and long-term benefits, and cost to the Medicare project, of such addition. This is not a RFP, no solicitation is available.
