The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to solicit a quotation, on a sole source basis, from Sawtooth Technologies for modifications to the Windows (WIN) computer-assisted telephone interviewing (CATI) software. WIN CATI software is used by State Health Departments to conduct health related telephone interviews under their Behavorial Risk Factor Surveillance (BRFS) programs. WIN CATI software shall be modified to eliminate hard coding of specific rules for the BRFS activities and to create text files to house these rules.Sawtooth Technologies is the developer of the proprietary WIN CATI software, as such they are the only entity allowed to modify/manipulate the code. To be effective from 08/06/2001 through 10/01/2001. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation. Simplified Acquisition procedures will be utilized and an oral quotation will be solicited on or about Aug 06, 2001. Other than full and open competition is authorized pursuant to 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1). Qualified vendors have 15 days from the date of this synopsis to submit capability statements delineating their ability to provide these software upgrades and services. Such qualifications will be used solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement of a full and open competition basis. No solicitation exists
