The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to solicit a quotation, on a sole source basis on or before 08/06/2001, from MD Consult for an electronic subscription to medical and health sciences e-textbooks. The publishers are WB Saunders, Mosby-Yearbook,Churchill Livingston, and The American Academy of Pediatrics. MD Consult is the only company which is known to offer the mix of electronic medical reference resources required by CDC and searchable by a single interface. The subscription shall permit simultaneous search of the entire collection of e-resources or to browse a single resource and to decouple single resources and enter electronic address for that resource and enter the electronic address in the CDC Information Center catalog. Subscription from 08/01/2001 through 12/31/2002. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation. Simplified Acquisition procedures will be utilized and an oral quotation will be solicited on or about June 09, 2000. Other than full and open competition is authorized pursuant to 41 U.S.C. 253?(1). Qualified vendors have 15 days from the date of this synopsis to submit capability statements delineating their ability to provide these software upgrades and services. Such qualifications will be used solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct the procurement on a fully and open competition basis. No solicitation exists.
