Description

NASA/ARC plans to issue a Request for Offer (RFO)/Invitation for Bid (IFB) for Installation of No-Load Break Isolation Switches. The work to be performed includes installing isolation switches downstream of the 7.2KV circuit breakers of the main fan drive motors at the Unitary Plan Wind Tunnel. These switches will provide means of drive isolation without physcially racking the main circuit breakers out. The new system will also include a kirk key interlocking system to insure proper and safe operation. The order of magnitude for the procurement is between $100,000.00 and $500,000.00 and the effort shall be completed within 168 calendar days after notice to proceed. This procurement is a total small business set-aside. See Note 1. The NAICS Code and small business size standard for this procurement are 235310 and $11.5 million, respectively. The DPAS Rating for this procurement is DO-C2. The anticipated release date of the IFB/RFO is on or about August 6, 2001 with an anticipated offer closing date of on or about September 6, 2001. The firm date for receipt of bids or offers will be stated in the IFB/RFO. All requests for copies of the solicitation RFO2-38057(CXD) should be in writing and directed to Mr. Mike Wilkerson. Verbal requests will not be accepted. Facsimile requests will not be accepted. THERE WILL BE A NON-REFUNDABLE CHARGE OF $75.00 FOR EACH SET OF PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS. MAKE CHECK PAYABLE TO BECHTEL NATIONAL INCORPORATED AND MAIL TO NASA-AMES RESEARCH CENTER, ATTENTION: MR. MIKE WILKERSON, M/S 213-11, MOFFETT FIELD, CA 94035-1000. All QUALIFIED responsible sources may submit a bid which shall be considered by the agency. An ombudsman has been appointed -- See NASA Specific Note "B". The solicitation and any documents related to this procurement [with the exception of the specifications and drawings] will be available over the Internet. These documents will be in Microsoft Office 97 format and will reside on a World-Wide Web (WWW) server, which may be accessed using a WWW browser application.
