Description

The National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) intends to negotiate a contract to perform a requirements analysis for a comprehensive integrated medical information system (MIS) to facilitate the collection, storage, and retrieval of healthcare data for the Gila River Health Care Corporation (GRHCC). The Gila River Health Care Corporation provides in-patient and out-patient services to over 20,000 American Indians in Arizona. The vendors should be familiar with the Resource Patient Management System (RPMS) or similar software packages, since RPMS is the software presently used by the GRHCC. Vendors shall have experience in evaluating hospital MIS in multiple OS platforms. The vendor's analysis will focus on using readily available state-of-the-art software systems, with appropriate modifications or customizations, as opposed to proposing a complete development effort. The requirements analysis shall be performed by an independent consulting agency that specializes in MIS and is not aligned with any software vendor. Interested vendors that are capable of providing the Government with the above requirements may request a copy of the Request for Quote (RFQ) in writing or by FAX to 301-480-4226 to the Contracting Office prior to the closing date of this notice. It is anticipated that the RFQ NIH-NIDDK-01-663 will be available fifteen (15) days after the publication date of this synopsis. Receipt of quotations will be due ten (10) days after the release of the RFQ. The anticipated award date is September 14, 2001.
