Description

Notice of availability of a prospectus for the award of a concession contract authorizing the operation of a 125-site wooded campground and camper store for the public within Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area for a period of ten years. The campground is located east of Route 209 near Dingmans Ferry, Pennsylvania. The Concessioner will be required to complete a Building and Improvement Program consisting of construction of two bathhouse/restroom buildings to replace the existing facilities. The cost of the improvement program is estimated to be $221,000. Operations are conducted from approximately April 15th to October 15th. Annual gross receipts for 1999 were $195,298. The Director, National Park Service, has determined that this is a qualified new concession contract as annual gross receipts are estimated to be less than $500,000 in the first 12 months of its term, and the new concession contract provides for the continuation of the visitor services authorized under the previous concession contract. Therefore, pursuant to 36 CFR Part 51.36, a preferred offeror for this contract exists. Offers are due October 1, 2001.
