- Description
- DESC: The United States Section of the International Boundary and Water Commission, United States and Mexico (USIBWC), El Paso, TX, intends to acquire the following equipment on the basis of Other Than Full and Open Competition as prescribed by FAR 6.301-1 from S.P. Kinney Engineers, Inc. The requirement is for a firm-fixed price contract to purchase three Motorized Self-Cleaning Type of the Heavy Duty, Rotating Drum Design Raw Water Strainers. SPECIFICATIONS: One (1) 4" Inlet and Outlet Strainer for Station Service Water System, HP, 230/460 VOLTS, 3 Phase, 60 Hz Motor. Construction: Body -- Cast Iron, Cover -- Cast Iron, Drum -- Cast Iron, Shaft -- Carbon Steel, ceramic coated packing area, Media -- 1/8" Perforated Cones of 316 SS, Packing -- Chevron Pressure Seal. Design Pressure: -- 150 psig @ 100%, Minimum Working pressure: -- 20 psig, Must be able to fit existing 10" fiberglass piping due to extreme cost and fitting of new piping. Two (2) 10" Inlet and Outlet Strainers 3/4 HP, 230/460 Volts, 3 Phase 60 Hz. Twelve bolt flanged connection. Body -- Cast Iron, Cover of Cast Iron, Drum -- Cast Iron, Shaft -- Carbon Steel, ceramic coated packing area, Media -- 1/8 " perforated cones of 316 SS. Packing -- Chevron Pressure Seal. Design Pressure: 150 psig @ 100F., Minimum Working Pressure 20 psig. Must be able to fit existing 10" Fiberglass piping due to extreme cost and fitting of new piping. Competition is restricted due to the propriety of this acquisition in which only one source has the capability and compatibility with the existing equipment to be acquired. It is necessary for the USIBWC to acquire strainers that will conform to existing piping presently utilized by the water system at Amistad Dam Site in Del Rio, TX. It is not in the best interest of the Government to purchase strainers which will not be compatible with the existing piping. No solicitation document is available. RFQ H-13-01 is assigned for tracking purposes only. Assertion or capability to provide compatible equipment must be submitted in writing to Dolores Hinton at the USIBWC, 4171 N. Mesa, Bldg. C-310, El Paso, TX 79902 by 12:00 Noon, Mountain Daylight Savings Time on August 9, 2001. Information submitted must clearly demonstrate both company and alternate product capabilities. Responses should include business name, tax identification number, Dun & Bradstreet number, point of contact, address, telephone number (including area code). This requirement is a 100% set-aside for small business concerns (applicable Commerce Business Daily Numbered Note: 1). The applicable NAICS Code for this procurement is 332919 with a small business standard of 500 employees or less.
