- Description
- The DVAMC located in Birmingham, Alabama requires Radiation Dosimetry Service for the period of 10-1-2001 through 9-30-2002 with four one year options for renewal. The Dosimetry processor shall supply, process, evaluate, package and ship dosimeters, as well as provide and maintain exposure reports. Dosimetry processor must also have a tracking system available, at no additional cost, which is capable of input and retrieval of Dosimetry data. Personal dosimeters shall be provided five working days prior to designated wear period and reports within 8 working days of receipt of dosimeter. Whole body badges must have extended processing time capability (excess of 3 months) and be capable of area monitoring, as well as be durable enough to withstand accidental washing and drying and heat resistant for those accidentally left in vehicles. Badges should be accurate to 1 mrem+/- 1mrem. Ring badges will also be required and must have the capability for sterilization. 24-hour emergency services shall be available, upon request. The successful bidder must hold a current personnel Dosimetry accreditation from the National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program (NVLAP) of the National Institute of Standards and Technology in all eight categories.
