- Description
- Furnish all labor, materials and equipment necessary to complete the construction of a laboratory/administration building (approximately 17,000 square feet). The work shall include but not be limited to all site work, landscaping, paving, irrigation and drainage systems, repair of existing access roads, and removal of two existing office buildings, including asbestos abatement. Construction of the main building shall include removal of existing soil and replacement with specified structural fill, concrete grade beams and slabs, concrete basement, structural steel framing, metal and wood stud constructions, pre-engineered wood trusses, wood roof deck, exterior milled wood siding, flat seam metal wall cladding, and a metal roof system. All interior finishes and furnishing shall be provided including interior partitions, gypsum drywall, tile, carpet and resilient flooring, wood paneling, fabric coverings, acoustic ceilings, architectural casework, and laboratory finishes and casework. Mechanical systems shall include relocation of potable water tanks and chlorinating system; fire protection system using existing spring water source; a chilled and hot water HVAC system supplied with existing spring water source, with VAV box controls and Energy Management Systems, 100 percent fresh air exhaust systems in laboratories; plumbing systems for acid waste; sanitary sewer waste; and an on-site waste water treatment system. Electrical system shall include lighting and power systems, installation of emergency generator, and computer electrical and UPS system. The project is located at the Bozeman Fish Technology Center, Bozeman Montana. The solicitation will be issued on or about August 9, 2001. Performance period is 550 calendar days from issuance of the Notice to Proceed. Work is dependent upon weather and climatic conditions and is included in the performance period. This procurement is being offered under the authority of FAR Section 19.808-2, competitive 8(a) and is restricted to eligible 8(a) firms in Montana. Any responsible 8(a) source in Montana may submit a proposal which shall be considered by this agency. Award will be made using FAR Part 15 best value procedures, to the responsive, responsible offeror whose proposal contains the combination of those criteria offering the best overall value to the Government considering technical capability, past performance, and price. Estimated price range is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. There is no charge for solicitation documents. Plans will be available for inspection without charge at the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, 134 Union Blvd, Suite 140, Lakewood Colorado 80228 and the Bozeman Fish Technology Center, 4050 Bridger Canyon Road, Bozeman Montana upon issuance of the Request For Proposal.
