Description

The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) has a requirement for aerographic positive and aerial calibration plates. The USGS intends to award this order to Eastman Kodak Company. The unique chemical and physical characteristics of the emulsion on these plates has been established as the standard for the calibration of all aerial mapping cameras performed by the Optical Science Laboratory of the U.S. Geological Survey. Any deviation from this standard would invalidate subsequently derived calibration data. Since the preparation and formulation of this photographic emulsion is proprietary to the Eastman Kodak Company, it is believed that any other manufacturer could not duplicate it. THIS ANNOUNCEMENT IS FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY; NO FORMAL RFQ WILL BE AVAILABLE. This award will be made on or about 09 August 2001.
