Description
The Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division, China Lake, CA intends to procure on an other than full and open basis an APG-79/AESA Radar System for the F/A-18 E/F Program from I-Tech Corporation, 10300 Valley View Road, Eden Prairie, MN 55344. The APG-79/AESA Radar System consists of one Fibre Channel Analyzer, 2 Gb (extended memory); one each Fibre Channel Emulation Complete Development System (IPC-2100) Passport PCI Portable Test System); one each 2-channel, 2 Gb Satellite mounted in a PassPort PCI+; four each Copper DB9 Gigabit Interface Converter (GBIC), 1 Gigabit cable; four each Short wave non-OFC Optical GBIC 2 Gb cables; four each Active High Speed Serial Data Connectors (HSSDC) GBIC, 2 Gigabit cables; one each DB9 to DB9 Fibre Channel, length 5 meters The Fibre Channel Analyzer must be capable of operating at the 2 Gigabits/second (Gbps) data transfer rate and the ability to support multiple networked users via Ethernet and/or TCP/IP. I-Tech is the only company that can meet the minimum critical specifications because a system which replicates existing laboratory capabilities at two "sister" laboratories located at Raytheon, El Segundo and Boeing, St. Louis is required. The NAWCWD fiber channel analyzer must be identical to the Raytheon system because commonality is required between all three sites. Commonality allows the transfer of specific test setups on test equipment, the ability to use same test procedures, the elimination of the need to train users on different test systems, and to transport test data collected at each site between sites. The only way to have commonality in this case is to have the identical system. Market research indicates that the I-tech model is the only one that can meet this requirement because it is the only one that can support 16 channels in one analyzer. The closing date for this solicitation is 20 August 2001. Award will be issued under the authority of the test program for commercial items (FAR 13.5). All responsible sources may submit a quotation that shall be considered by the agency. Responses to this intent to solicit, other than from the source listed, will be required to submit information to verify their prior experience and knowledge of the F/A-18 APG-79/AESA Radar System. These responses shall be submitted in writing to Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division, Code 210000D, Attn: Colette Escobar, China Lake, CA 93555-6100. If you have any questions regarding this solicitation, contact Colette Escobar, Contract Specialist at (760) 939-2983 or Diane Foucher, Contracting Officer at (760) 939-8160.
