Description

The Lassen National Forest, Almanor Ranger District, intends to procure services for Feather River Fuel Wood Mechanical Thinning for FY 01. The intent of this project is to construct defensible fuel profile zones (DFPZ), improve riparian habitats and provide public use fuel wood. There is an estimated 144 acres of work consisting of mechanical thinning of trees from 3 inches DBH to 24.9 inches DBH, chipping and hauling of biomass, small log removal and bucking and decking of fuel wood. A pre-proposal meeting is scheduled for August 28 at 9:00 AM at the Almanor Ranger District, 900 Highway 36, Chester, CA 96020.
