Description
The Naval Air Warfare Center Training Systems Division (NAWCTSD) intends to issue a purchase order no later than September 30, 2001, to Northrop Grumman Field Support Services, Inc., at P.O. Box 42232, NAWS Pt. Magu Branch, Port Hueneme, CA 93044, 805-989-4500 to acquire one each of the following initial spares for the 2F169 F-14B Weapon Systems Trainer: Air Combat Maneuvering (ACM) Buffer Unit (P/N A51TM4012-1), ACM Buffer Unit Circuit Card Assembly (CCA) (P/N A51TM4010-1), Video Buffer Unit (P/N A51TM004-1), Video Buffer Unit CCA (P/N A51TM002-5), and a Power Supply Unit (P/N SLD12-1010-12T). The ACM Buffer Unit is an electronic device that converts trainer signals for the ACM panel into a form that is compatible with the VDIG(R). The ACM Buffer Unit CCA is the electronic circuit card that fits inside the ACM buffer unit box. The Video Buffer Unit is an electronic box that converts video signals emanating from the VDIG(R) into a form that is compatible with the unique display requirements of the Instructor Operating Station (IOS) video display and shows the operator what the pilot is seeing on the VDIG(R) in both the Vertical Display Indicator (VDI) and Heads Up Display (HUD) modes. The Video Buffer Unit CCA is the electronic circuit card that fits inside the Video buffer unit box. The Power Supply Unit converts readily available 115V AC power in the trainer to the 15 Volt power required by the Video Buffer Box. Each item will be delivered to Oceana Naval Air Station (NAS), VA, some 60 days after contract award. Northrop Grumman is the original equipment manufacturer of these items and is the only known source for such items that will properly interface with existing trainer equipment. Small businesses are encouraged to contact Northrop Grumman regarding subcontract opportunities. Among the electrical components that may be purchased by Northrop Grumman to manufacture these items are resistors, capacitors and transistors. This is a one-time buy for initial spares. See Note 22.
