Description

The Government intends to award this on a sole source basis to Mak Milling, Rapid City, SD 57709 in the amont of $10,637.60 as they are able to begin work immediatley with no other sources in the local area and the urgency we have to complete the project prior to the scheduled chip-seal project as considerable wear and tear will occur if this is not completed in a timely manner. Scope of Work Mill Plane Highway 87 Wind Cave National Park This project involves mill planing the 24-foot wide asphalt surface on Highway 87, beginning at the junction of US385 and extending to the north 0.8 miles. Distorted cross-section, surface roughness, high spots and ridges on the existing asphalt surfaces shall be mill planed to provide a finished surface that is relatively smooth and free of high and low spots and suitable for application of a chip seal coat. Tolerance for finished surface shall be -inch in ten feet. Traffic control and construction signage will be provided by Wind Cave National Park. Hauling and stockpiling of millings will be provided by Wind Cave National Park. Water for project use is available in the maintenance area at Wind Cave National Park, approximately 3 miles from the project site. THIS IS A NON COMPETIVE PROCUREMENT.Award will be made by 08/08/2001.
