Description

Notice of intent to negotiate a sole source contract with Canter Associates. Inc. (Canter) for the National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS). Purpose of proposed contract is to conduct a 3-day National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) training for North Pacific Fishery Management Council members 9/28/01-9/30/01; 3-day NEPA training course for biologists, economists, and fishery management specialists on 9/17/01-9/19/01; and a 3-day NEPA training course for biologists, economists, and fishery management specialists 11/19/01-11/21/01. NMFS is preparing an environmental impact statement (EIS) to incorporate Steller sea lion protection m measures which must be completed prior to groundfish opening on 1/1/01. Canter has gained specific knowledge concerning NEPA review due to prior experience with NMFS preparers of this EIS.
