Description

The Federal Highway Administration plans to negotiate with the National Association of City Transportation Officials (NATCO) to conduct research on the effects of parking and its cost on the transportation network of large metropolitan areas and upon the driving habits of the traveling public. The results and recommendations of the study would be beneficial to state departments of transportation, metropolitan planning organizations, transit operators, and city and county officials. NATCO is the only organization that represents the 14 largest transportation departments of public works and they have an extensive communication network system in place with their constituency. NATCO is uniquely qualified for the above-listed work because of their membership partnerships, and technical capabilities to promote the benefits/products of the Metropolitan Capacity Building Program, no other source is considered reasonably available. This is a Simplified Acquisition and the anticipated award date is on or about August 23, 2001.
