Description

The Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC) has a requirement for actuarial data analysis services. These services will include conducting annual updates of the PBGC's Pension Insurance Modeling System's (PIMS) pension plan database. PIMS is a stochastic simulation model designed to quantify the amount of risk facing PBGC's single employer insurance program and PIMS' actuarial database includes a sample of over 400 ongoing defined benefit pension plans loaded in significant detail. Primarily this work includes the collection, analysis, editing, calibration and data entry of information from Form 5500 (Annual Return/Report of Employee Benefit Plan) Schedule B and attachments for use in the model. The PBGC intends to purchase up to 7,000 professional hours of actuarial services over the base year of the contract and an additional 7,000 hours in each of four option years to be included in the contract. Telephone requests for this solicitation will NOT be honored. The solicitation document will be distributed through the FedBizOpps.gov web site. The site contains downloading instructions. All information about this acquisition, including solicitation amendments, will also be distributed through the FedBizOpps site. Interested parties are responsible for monitoring the site to assure that they have the most up to date information about this acquisition. All firms obtaining a copy of the solicitation from FedBizOpps are requested to notify the contract specialist, preferably via email at Smith.Gregory@pbgc.gov. This notification is requested to include the firm's name, address, contact person, phone number, and email address if available. Interested parties unable to download the solicitation may obtain a hard copy of this solicitation by requesting it in writing to the PBGC/Greg Smith. The estimated issue date of this solicitation is on or about August 29, 2001. All responsible sources may submit a proposal for consideration by the agency.
