- Contractor shall provide services of transporting laboratory specimens for the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, 50 Irving Street, N.W. Washington, Dc 20422 for the period of 10/1/01 9/30/02 with two one-year renewal options, subject to the availability of funds. Contractor is required to be experienced in the transport of laboratory specimens and submit 3 references to the Contracting Officer. Contractor shall submit with their quote their Standard Operating Procedure for (a) Specimen Handling and (b) an Exposure Control Plan. Contractor shall provide to the Contracting Office proof of insurance coverage for his vehicles. All vehicles shall be in good working order. All contractor personnel shall conduct themselves in a professional manner at all times and provide proper identification upon entering the medical center. SCHEDULE: Monday thru Friday (no weekends or holidays) 10:00AM pick-up specimens from the VAMC, Washington, DC 20422 Lab Stat Room GA-107 and by 12 12:30PM deliver specimens to the VA Medical Center, 10 North Green Street, Baltimore, MD. 21201 STAT Lab 4th floor Room 4D-117. 2:30PM return to VAMC, Washington, DC with specimens from Baltimore VAMC. Deliver these specimens to the STAT Lab Room GA-107. Note: The sending site will pack all specimens in compliance with government regulations covering the transportation of etiologic agents and the contractor will also adhere to the regulations.
