Description

The USDA, Agricultural Research Service, intends to procure Steel Bins and Boxes to be used in a research study to determine the effects of the global rise in carbon dioxide concentration on rangeland plants using a novel elongated tunnel system. The USDA requires approximately twenty (20) Steel Bins, 15.5ft long x 3.5 ft wide x 6 ft deep with bottom (inside dimensions) made of 1/4 inch steel, eighty (80) Steel Boxes, 1m long x 1m wide x 1.5m deep (without bottom attached), Bottom shall be 1m long x 1m wide plate (that can be welded on as bottom after container is filled with soil -- bottom welding to be done by USDA-ARS). Steel boxes will be constructed of either 1/4 inch or 5/16 inch steel to be determined prior to award. Cost shall include shipping (FOB Destination) to Temple, Texas. The RFQ will be released o/a August 15, 2001 with responses due approximately 30 days later. Requests for the RFQ may be mailed, faxed, or emailed to the address listed above.
