Description

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) at the National Interagency Fire Center (NIFC) has a requirement to remove a steam boiler and associated steam equipment to upgrade one of the NIFC complex building's hot water heating systems. This system consists of a two pipe closed loop configuration, a steam pipe loop consisting of a steam boiler, and a steam converter. A hot water loop pipes through the building's two air handler coils and through the wall mount radiant heaters located throughout the building. Work shall consist of: (a) removing and disposing of the building's steam boiler and all associated steam generation equipment, and (b) providing and installing a new low pressure hot water boiler and all required equipment to retrofit into the existing building's hot water heating system. All work shall be completed by November 16, 2001. This procurement is a 100% small business set-aside and NAICS 23511 (SIC 1711), Plumbing, Heating and Air-Conditioning applies. The small business size standard is $11.5 million for the past three fiscal years. Simplified acquisition procedures will be used for award and Davis-Bacon labor rates apply. The NIFC complex is located in Boise, Ada County, Idaho. The estimated value of this requirement is less than $100,000. Only written offers will be accepted and it is anticipated award will be made by September 30, 2001.
