- Description
- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. The announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals/bids are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This solicitation is being issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ) #0022044. The provisions and clauses incorporated are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular #97-27. This solicitation is under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). The NAICS code is 421490. This will be a Firm-Fixed price contract. The Government intends to solicit and negotiate on a sole source basis with the Environmental Technologies Group, Inc., 1735 Heckle Boulevard, Rock Hill, SC 29732, to match the existing robots technoloy for Advanced Consequence Management System for mini-robot (Remotec), Update Containment System for existing ACMS sensor Package on Mark 6A Robot. Requirement: The remote sensor system must have the following capabilities, Detection of gamma radiation, Detection of chemical warfare agents, Measure oxygen content (percentage), Detection of lowest explosive limit (LEL), Detection of volatile organic compounds (photoionization detector), Detection of hydrogen sulfide, and carbon monoxide (in ppm). The weather Station must be capable of the followings, No moving parts (anemometers or propellers), must fit on ANDROS- mini robot, wind speed, wind direction, temperature, humidity, compress. Other requirements: Software must integrate with a personnel tracking system, all signals must handle 250 input signals, all signals must be displayed on one software program, transmitters must have a 2 km range, and sensor package must be contained as a single unit. The personnel tracking system: personal units for all down range responders, automatic reader placed at the "hot line," signals transmitted to system software, software calculates stay time using weather data. The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit quotes. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. However, all quotes received within fifteen days after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon response to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
