- Description
- The Government intends to solicit and negotiate on a sole source basis with the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations, Fisheries Department, Rome, Italy, to provide support for planning 2002 International Technical Consultation on Status and Trends of Fisheries for the National Marine Fisheries, Woods Hole, MA. The FAO will deliver a report of workshop planning meeting; deliver documentation of agenda and meeting arrangement for the Technical Consultation and deliver a report of the Technical Consultation. Authority: 41 USC 253(c)(1). The Food and Agriculture Organization is the only know source capable of performing the required work. The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received within fifteen days after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Evidence must be provided of ability to perform the required work. Copies of the solicitation will only be provided in response to written or faxed requests received directly from the requestor. Telephone requests will not be honored.
