Description

The Carderock Division, Naval Surface Warfare Center is currently working with Electric Boat under a Work for Private Parties agreement to manufacture rubber tiles for the SEAWOLF. Currently Rubber Applicators is the only manufacturer who's rubber compound has passed the required first article testing FAT. Because of the tile delivery schedule and FAT costs, there is not time to qualify another vendor to manufacture the rubber. Based on the above rational, the Navy has decided to solicit and negotiate a sole source contract under the authority of FAR 6.302-2, with Rubber Applicators to manufacture the rubber for the tiles. Interested parties may submit a statement of capabilites for informational purposes only to the contracting office. (see numbered Note 22)
