Description

This is a notice of intent to award on a sole-source basis for the commercial items in accordance to FAR Part 12 procedures, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only notice; a written solicitation will not be issued. The U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) intends to contract with Nassau County Parks & Recreation Municipal Rifle & Pistol Range, Eisenhower Park, East Meadow, NY 11554, for the use of shooting range and classroom space for the period of 10/01/2001 through 09/30/2002. The contractor shall provide range time for 26 weeks, 5 days per week, 4 hours per day, and classroom space for 20 weeks, dates and times to be determined by the Immigration & Naturalization Service, 26 Federal Plaza, New York, NY 10278. The contractor must be located within close proximity of the JFK Airport to enable INS officers to complete their quarterly firearms qualifications requirements and return to their duty location immediately, rather than traveling a long distance. The contractor will be required to accommodate the variable scheduling of the INS officers. The contractor will be required to meet established health and safety standards. This contract is for services which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate only with Nassau County Parks & Recreation Municipal Rifle & Pistol Range under the authority 41 U.S.C. 253 (c)(1) as implemented by FAR 6.302-1 unless additional sources are located. This notice is being solicited on a sole-source basis.
