Description

This notice is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). NASA/GRC intends to purchase the items from TA Instruments using 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1)as authority for other than full and open competition. TA Instruments is the only source of the patented modulated DSC which employs proprietary technology for measuring thermal changes in a lab sample. This equipment is also compatible with existing Government-owned equipment. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. An Ombudsman has been appointed. See NASA Specific Note "B".
