Description

This is a combined synopsis and solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6 as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Request For Quotation (RFQ) number is N66604-01-Q-6040. Incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-27. This is unrestricted. NAICS Code is 334119_; size standard is 1,000 Employees. NUWC Division Newport intends to purchase the following items: (a) Speedo II, Consisting of: (1)Quantity (QTY) 1, SGI S-0300-4-0, Base System with 4 500 MHz CPU's, memory and disk options, IRIX O/S and destination kit and Support for same; (2) QTY (1) SGI RM-KIT-ORIGIN300, Rack Rails Kit; (3) QTY (1), SGI MEM-0300-2G, 2GB System memory (2 X 1024 DIMM); (4) QTY (1), SGI DRV-0300-73GB, 73GB drive Ultra SCSI3 10K RPM; (5) QTY (1), SGI SC4-ASE-6.5, IRIX 6.5 Advanced Server Environment for Origin2000, Origin200, SGI 2100/2200/2400/2800 Servers; (6) QTY (1), SGI DK-SL1-001, Destination Kit for Single Tower Origin200. Origin Vault, US/Canada (110VAC); (7) QTY (1), SGI P-CDR48-EXT, External 40x CDROM; (8) QTY (1), SGI CS-HWINST-HIGH, One-time initial system hardware installation for one high-end system (SGI Origin 200, Challenge, Onyx); (9) QTY (1), SGI MO5-CD, CD-ROM Update Media Requirement -- for Support Only; Required delivery is 30_ days after award, F.O.B. Destination Naval Station Newport; Newport, RI. It is expected to place a purchase order with SGI Federal, 655 Lone Oak Drive, Eagaon, Minnesota, 55121. They are the only known source for these items because the computer hardware must be compatible with existing similar software. SGI is the only manufacturer that produces computers using the MIPS family of microprocessors and using the IRIX operating system that is compatible with existing software. All other timely offers will be considered. Offers for other products must contain complete product information and prices. FAR 52.212-1 Instructions to Offerors -- Commercial Items applies. Evaluation will be in accordance with FAR 52.212-2 Evaluation -- Commercial Items. Evaluation factors are technical capability, price and past performance. Each is equally important.
