- Description
- An Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity contract is planned for the procurement of Bullet Proof Vests, Level IIIA, in accordance with NIJ Standard 0101.04. The initial contract term will extend for a period of three (3) years, with multiple renewal options. Delivery will be made to multiple locations throughout the United States and its possessions. Most vests are replaced every five (5) years, plus vests for new employees. The estimated requirements are as follows: calendar year 2001 -- 2,274 each vests plus 3,149 outershells;calendar year 2002 -- 290 each vests plus 460 outershells;calendar year 2003 -- 327 vests plus 429 outershells. In the second year of the contract the contractor/manufacturer must participate in the Postal Service's licensed uniform vendor program so that Postal Police Officers can use their uniform allowance to make purchases. Purchases will be through delivery orders and credit cards. The contractor must provide for measuring/custom fitting on site for six (6) or more persons. (On site measuring/custom fitting must be available for under five (5) persons.) Measurements of USPS personnel obtaining a vest and outershells must be maintained by the contractor in the event of need for replacement. Normal delivery time will be 45 calendar days from the date of the order. Initial deliveries may be required in a shorter window of time. Contractor will be permitted to submit alternate delivery schedule. Exact date for issuance of solicitation has NOT been determined at this time. =20
