Description

The VA Maryland Health Care System, 10 North Greene Street, Baltimore, MD 21201, intends to procure on a sole source basis with GE Medical Systems to provide preventive maintenance, inspections, and services calls for the routine maintenance and repair of the GE PACS system located at the Baltimore VAMC. This includes all hardware and software to transmit to, store in, and view images from the system. GEMS shall provide all personnel, management, material, parts, equipment, supplies, labor and transportation in performing these services twenty-four (24) per day, seven (7) days per week. GE manufactures the PACS and GE maintains sole proprietorship of the software that is used in the system. GE does not authorize training on the PACS to other than GE employed engineers. This is a sole source procurement under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements. This notice of intent is not a request for proposals. No solicitations or RFQ will be forthcoming. Interested parties may identify their interest and submit technical information and a technical capacity statement in response to this notice. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract is entirely in the discretion of the Government. All responses must be received by COB September 14, 2001. If no responses are received by this date, a sole source contract with GE Medical Systems will be pursued. The POC for this notice is Carol L.
