Description

The Federal Bureau of Prisons, Mid-Atlantic Regional Contracting Office, intends to award a contract for Diagnostic Radiology Services. These services will be provided to the Federal Correctional Facilities at Manchester, Ky. It is anticipated that the contractor will be responsible for interpreting all types of radiographs, (i.e., chest, skull, joints, extremities, etc.) performed by the x-ray technician at the FCI. The contractor will be responsible for all costs involving overnight readings. Positive results found on x-rays will be reported within 24-48 hours from receiving the actual x-ray film via facsimile. Stat x-rays will have results transmitted back to the institution via facsimile immediately and no later than 24 hours. All hard copy reports will be returned with the x-ray films. The institution will submit films weekly to the contractor at cost to the Government (institution), Monday thru Friday, between the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. It is anticipated approximately one mailing per week will be sufficient. The institutions anticipates 200 films per month for interpretation. The Bureau of Prisons anticipates a firm-fixed price requirements type contract with a 12 month base period and four (4) 12 month option periods. The Bureau of Prisons anticipates the issue date of this solicitation September 7, 2001; closing September 19, 2001.
