Description
The Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) plans to issue a modification to Order DTRA01-01-F-0001 to GSA Contract GS35F5476H to extend the period of performance for three months beginning 7 October 2001 and to provide additional funding to cover support requirements during this period. The contract extension will provide continued support while a follow-on procurement is competed among GSA schedule contractors. Under the extension to the DO, Defense Group Inc. (DGI) will continue to provide critical Scientific, Engineering and Technical assistance for the support of RestOps ACTD to the DTRA Chemical and Biological Defense (CBD) Directorate. The varied and complex support areas to the CBD Directorate mission involves RestOps enabling technology consisting of its scientific analysis, programmatic support, and planning, integration and leveraging; ACTD management support consisting of its integration and planning, technical management execution support, and operational manager execution support; and RestOps Concept of Operations (CONOPS) evaluation consisting of planning and fielding exercises, tests, assessments and initial training for new CONOPS. Based on DGI's technical expertise, and access to a broad base of resources, DTRA believes DGI is the only contractor capable of providing the ongoing programmatic functions and meeting varied and complex technical requirements within time and budgetary constraints for this interim period. See Note 22. Any other firm desiring consideration must fully identify its capability to perform this short-term requirement. However, GSA schedule contractors may identify their capability to perform this function of the competitive follow-on (beginning January 2002) effort at this address. Any questions concerning the current contract extension may be addressed to HQ, Defense Threat Reduction Agency, ATTN: Mr. Hale (AMO), 8725 John J. Kingman Road, Fort Belvoir, Virginia 22060-6201, fax 703-767-4691.
