- The U.S. Coast Guard is considering whether or not to set aside an acquisition for dry-dock repairs to the USCGC MALLET (WLIC-75304) 75 FOOT B class inland construction tender and 84 foot barge located in Corpus Cristi, Texas. Drydock and Repair Availability for HUBZone concerns only, sic code 3731 The small business size standard is less than 1000 employees. This acquisition is for dry-dock repairs to the USCGC MALLET (WLIC-75304) 75 FOOT ?B? class inland construction tender and barge. All work must be performed within the.USA. Trained welders, who have been certified by the applicable regulatory code performance qualification procedures, shall accomplish all welding and brazing. At the preset time, this acquisition will be issued under full and open competition procedures. However, in accordance with FAR 19.1305, if your firm is HUBZone certified and intends to submit an offer on this acquisition, please respond by e-mail to Bbaechle@mlca.uscg.mil or by fax (757) 628-4675/76. Questions may be referred to Mr. F. Barat Baechle at (757) 628-4652. In your response please include the following: (a) a positive statement of your intent to submit a bid for this solicitation as a prime contractor; (b) evidence of experience in work similar in type and scope to include contract numbers, project titles, dollar amounts, points of contact and telephone numbers and (c) past performance references with points of contact and phone numbers. At least two references are requested, but more are desirable. Your response is required by 10 days from the date of this posting. All of the above must be submitted in sufficient detail for a decision to be made on a HUBZone set aside. Failure to submit all information requested may result in a set-aside for small Business acquisition. A decision on whether this will be pursued as a HUBZone small business set aside or on a set aside for small Business will be posted in the CBD. The performance period is for 42 days. Provide all labor, material and equipment necessary to perform dry-dock repairs to the, USCGC MALLET (WLIC-75304) 75 FOOT ?B? class inland construction tender and barge located in Corpus Christi, Texas. The performance period for is forth-two (42) calendar days starting 04 February 2002. The place of performance is geographically restricted to an area from Brownsville, Texas to Carrabelle, Florida, via the intra-costal waterway.with homeport policy COMDTINST 3100 5. The following repairs include (1) Welding Repairs (2) Clean and Inspect Sewage and Grey Water Collection and Holding Tank(s) (3) Remove, Inspect, and Reinstall Propeller Shafts (4) Straighten Shafts (5) Renew Water-Lubricated Shaft Bearings (6) Remove and Install Propellers (7) Perform Minor Repairs and Reconditioning of Propeller (8)Clean And Test Grid Coolers. (9) Preserve Transducer Hull Ring(s) and Renew the V850 Depth Indicating Transducers on the Tender and Barge (10) Renew Valves (11) Remove, Inspect and Reinstall Rudder Assemblies (12) Preserve Barge Buoy Deck (13) Preserve Underwater Body (14) Provide Temporary Dining and Lodging (15) Ultrasonic Testing (16) Provide Temporary Logistics (17) Drydocking (18) Renew Rub Rail Section(s) (19) Renew Bulkhead Plating In OINC Head (20) Renew MDE Keel Cooler Piping and associated Fittings (21) Renew A/C and Bilge Raw Water Piping (23) Renew Sewage Valves (24) Renew Sewage Overboard Discharge Piping (25) Preserve Bilges. All reference documents are available for viewing at 300 East Main Street, Suite 600, Norfolk, VA. Drawings are now available on CD-ROM. The CD-ROM sets are available for all cutters and will be provided free of charge. The CD-ROM(s) contain WINDOWS compliant raster/vector formats (e.g. *.TIF, *.TIF (group4), *.DWG, and *.DWF, etc.) Drawings are also still available in hard copy. A non-refundable charge of $150.00 is required in the form of a certified check or money order made payable to the U.S. Coast Guard for requested drawings. The proposed contract listed here is set aside for small businesses only. Plans and specifications will be issued on or after 24 September 2001.
