Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. The announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotations are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This solicitation is being issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ)#0033716, the provisions and clauses incorporated are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 97-27. This solicitation is under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP)and is 100% Small Business Set-Aside. The North America Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 332439 and the business size standard of 500 employees. The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has a requirement for the following Brand Name or Equal:(Brand Name-Zarges) Qty of 150-part#40566 Aluminum Cases. IDS are 29.3x21.62x22.82; Qty of 10-part#40566LF Aluminum Cases lined with 2" foam; Qty of 10-part#40876 Aluminum cases. IDS are 64.9x29.5x26.3; and Qty of 10-part#47608 Dolly for part#40566. A Standard Commercial Warranty is required. FOB- Destination -- to the following locations: Los Angeles, California; North Miami Beach, Florida; New York, New York; Quantico, Virginia; and Cheverly, Maryland. Each location shall receive the following allotments of the Zarges Aluminum cases: 30EA of #40566; 2EA of #40566LF; 2EA of #40876 and 2EA of #40566. Requirement specifications: must interlock with existing Zarges aluminum cases. Shipping cases need to be rugged and light weight; house such items as personal protection equipment, electronic equipment, rakes, shovels and etc.; need to be large enough to accommodate required supplies and equipment; rugged to withstand being stacked on pallets for shipping via air freight or military transports to domestic or international destinations. -- The above characteristics are intended to be descriptive, but not restricted. Unless clearly marked that the offeror is quoting on an "equal" the offered item shall be considered as the brand name product referenced in this announcement. If the vendor proposed to furnish an "equal" product, then the brand name of the "equal"product, if any, shall be indicated on the Request for Quotation (RFQ). The evaluation and the determination as to the equality of the product, if not brand name, shall be the responsibility of the Government and will be based on information furnished by the offeror. The Government's purchasing activity is not responsible for locating or securing any information which is not identified in the quotation and reasonably available. To ensure sufficient information is available, the offeror must furnish as a part of the quotation- all descriptive material (such as cuts, illustrations, drawings or other information) necessary for the Government to determine whether the "equal" product meets the salient characteristics of the requirement. If the offeror proposed to modify a product so as to make it conform to the requirement, then proposed modifications shall clearly be marked with descriptive materials to show modifications. The government reserves the right to request product samples which can be tested for compatibility and provided at no additional cost. FAR 52.211-6 Brand Name or Equal (Aug. 1999); FAR provision 52.212-2 Evaluation -Commercial Items (Jan. 1999); Each offeror shall include a completed copy of the FAR Provisions at 52.212-3, Offeror Representations and Certifications (May 2001) with its offer. The Government will award to the responsible offeror whose offer conforming to this solicitation will be most advantageous to the Government, price and other factors considered.
