Description

Amendment Number 0001 to Solicitation Number DATM07-01-T-0009, Exhibit Media for YPG Heritage Center. The purpose of this amendment is to import additional information from the site visit. A site visit was conducted on Yuma Proving Ground (YPG) on 9/6/01 and a walk through was made for an over-view of the up-coming requirement. There were no specific questions asked, however, a discussion of YPG s vision of the Heritage Center was relayed to the attendees. YPG s vision of this project will be an updated Heritage Center which will reach out to a wider visitor base, reflecting the new 21st Century soldier. We envision the Heritage Center reflecting a new era that encompass, and reflects all the unique capabilities that only YPG has to offer, i.e., Cold Region (Alaska), Tropic (Panama and other tropical environments) and Desert (YPG) as well as YPG s influence across the globe. Ideas brought forth at the site visit ranged from involvement wi th conflict (where fought, where prepared). This would involve an era such as WWII, Korea, Gulf War, etc., and YPG s effort and participation in effort. We envision a historic area (which most of the displayed memorabilia is already available). We als o envision seeing the flow of all three extreme regions surge together and follow a cohesive flow merging such extreme unique environments into the future, showing YPG s cutting-edge technology. YPG has available information such as films, pictures as wel l as technical information and support personnel which can provide detailed information to enhance the project.
