- The purpose of this amendment is to clarify the statement of work in this solicitation. The following provides answers to clarification questions: Question 1. What equipment is currently installed in the racks which are to be removed? Is special test equipment required, and is it available on the ship? Answer 1: The equipment consists of Military (Navy) Comm. ie. (5 R-2368's, KY-85C, 2 ANDVT's, 3 KWR-46's, 2 KG-84's, 2 KY-58's, a URC-200, a C-10315, 2 SB-4124's (one black, one red), a CV-2460, an AM-2123A, etc.) Test Equipment should be available from the ship. Question 2: Power panel 02-138-1 replacement -- What is currently there? How many circuits are currently used? What amperages? Is there a space problem with size of the new panel? Yes, panel should be no more than 12" x 18" Answer 2: Not Known what is there, or how many circuits are used, or what the amperages are. Question 3: The LSTSG-4 cable from the new receptacle to power panel 02-138-1, what is the length of cable needed? Answer 3: Approximately 60 ft, exact measurements to be determined on ship. Question 4: The LSTSGU-9 cable from the power panel 02-138-1 to the terminal box, what is the length of cable needed? Answer 4: Approximately 65 ft, exact measurements to be determined on ship. Question 5: The LSTTSU-10 cable from the INMARSAT to the ships phone system PBX, what is the length of cable needed? (It says to ensure 25ft is coiled on both ends.) Answer 5: Approximately 150 ft, exact measurements to be determined on ship. Question 6: Are the CAD drawings due at completion of the job, or can they be mailed after returning to the contractors facility? Answer 6: Yes, drawings can be mailed after contractors returns to their facility. Question 7: Is there a set of installation plans showing what equipment is being relocated and how those equipments are to be stacked into the new racks? Answer 7: No, there are no installation plans. The equipment consists of Military (Navy) Comm. ie. (5 R-2368's, KY-85C, 2 ANDVT's, 3 KWR-46's, 2 KG-84's, 2 KY-58's, a URC-200, a C-10315, 2 SB-4124's (one black, one red), a CV-2460, an AM-2123A, etc.) Contractor is to repopulate new racks as applicable. Question 8: Who is supplying the racks, MSC or the contractor? Answer 8: MSC will furnish the racks. Question 9: Are shelves and mounting brackets, to mount the relocated equipment, being furnished with the new racks and who is purchasing them? Answer 9: Contractor is to furnish shelves and brackets for all reinstalled equipment. Question 10: Is there a block wiring diagram available for the equipment being relocated and for the BEST equipment being installed? Answer 10: There are no drawings available, Contractor is to provide all wiring and arrangement drawings. Question 11: What is the fabricated center equipment rack referred to in the RFQ? Answer 11: The Fabricated center equipment rack is a one piece angle iron rack that currently houses all the above equipment. Question 12: Are we to troubleshoot/repair any problems found in the fabricated center equipment rack in Radio before/after removal and re-installation or just advise the Chief Engineer and the on-site MSC Rep? Answer 12: No Troubleshooting/repair is required, unless the system equipment was operational prior to contractor relocation. Question 13: What equipments are installed in the fabricated center equipment rack? Answer 13: . See answer number one. Question 14: Are there blueprints for the new equipment rack foundations? Answer 14: No, Foundations will be done by onsite shipyard and built off of the Racks themselves. Contractor is to oversee the shipyard to verify that the foundations are built and installed properly. Question 15: Will all the existing equipment fit in the four new equipment racks being installed? Answer 15: Yes. Question 16: Are there electrical drawings of the power panel, terminal box and receptacle to be installed along with the drawings of existing power panel 02-138-1? Answer 16: No, drawings are to be done as-built. The exact location of term box and receptacle will be done onsite and provided by MSCREP. Contractor technical representatives performing this work shall have a clearance of "SECRET". The date and time set for closing remains the same at 10 September 2001, 1:00 P.M., Local Time.
