Description

The VA Maryland Healthcare System, Baltimore, Maryland intends to contract on a sole source basis under the authority of FAR 6.202, with STERIS for a full service contract on the following STERIS equipment: Fiberscope Sterilizer model 89A1, 2 each; and a Fiberscope Sterilizer model 90A2. This will include all costs for travel, parts, (excluding consumables), and labor. This will include a base year plus four option years. This unique, essential equipment is required for the safe and timely operation of this Medical Center. Because these items are necessary for daily operation, and because of its complex electro-mechanical, hydraulic, electronic, and pneumatic design, and because its repair history has indicated a high incident of breakdown, it is required that the items be maintained and serviced by the manufacturer. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals, however, contractors who wish to be considered, can submit a request for solicitation package on or before 9/27/01. Should no other vendor identify themselves by COB 9/27/01, the VAMC Baltimore will commence contractual agreement with STERIS.
