Description

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) plans to issue an order on a sole source basis to Carl Zeiss, Inc., One Zeiss Road, Thornwood, NY 10594-1939, under the authority of FAR 13.1061(b). The purpose and objective of this requirement is to provide preventative and emergency maintenance services for a Carl Zeiss Model LSM 510 confocal microscope. As the manufacturer of the equipment, Carl Zeiss, Inc. is the only company with the technical expertise to perform the necessary maintenance services on this equipment. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. No solicitation package will be issued for this requirement. The period of performance for this requirement is for one year with four additional one-year option periods. The anticipated award date to the order is on or about 10 days from the date of this notice.
