Description

Defense Supply Center Philadelphia (DSCP), Medical Directorate in conjunction with the Defense Supply Center Philadelphia Pacific plans to hold a Pre-Solicitation Conference on October 31, 2001 at the Yokosuka Naval Base, Japan. The purpose of the Pre-Solicitation Conference is to discuss a new Medical Readiness initiative, which expands the Overseas Support Initiative (OSI) Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) Intravenous and Irrigation Solutions into the Pacific RIM. A $3.7 million contract was awarded by DSCP Europe to a manufacturer in the United Kingdom to provide Intravenous and Irrigation Solutions contingency support to Europe. DSCP desires to award a contingency contract in the Pacific area to meet Services' Intravenous and Irrigation Solution requirements. DSCP plans to hold this conference to discuss this initiative with Intravenous and Irrigation Solution manufacturers primarily located in the Pacific RIM area. Who should attend such a conference? Due to the complexity and requirements of this initiative DSCP's target audience for the conference are Operational, Production, Quality Assurance, Inventory and Government Sales personnel. DSCP will be issuing a draft solicitation prior to the conference in hopes of generating more meaningful dialogue between the U.S. Government and the manufacturers.
