Description

The U.S. Army Tank-automotive and Armaments Command (TACOM) is seeking interested parties capable of developing and demonstrating high-powered vehicle engines of a size and capability that would be suitable for the Future Combat Systems (FCS). FCS is an Army weapon system planned as part of the emerging Objective Force, now in the early stages of development. TACOM-Warren has issued a research announcment to competitively solicit and award one or more agreements for research, development, design and demonstration of a quantity of two (2) engines (per agreement). The estimated value of the program is $30M, planned performance period will be two years per agreement. Source selection procedures will be used to make one or more best-value awards. Release date for the research announcement is 10 September 2001. See numbered Note 26.
