Description

This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR subpart 12.6 as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation number is SP4700-01-T-00XX. The solicitation is used as a request for quotation. The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those if effect through FAC 97-24. This solicitation is small business set-aside. The NAICS code is 811212. The Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) has a requirement for maintenance/repair and monthly preventative maintenance on three (3) TDC/Banctec scanning systems, model DS4530, including three (3) TDC/Banctec preview monitors, model DV-60 200dpi, and three (3) TDC/Banctec document inverters located at 8725 John J. Kingman Road, Room 0726, Fort Belvoir, VA 22060-6218. Period of Performance will be 1 year. The contractor shall provide the government with a designated point(s) of contact and make arrangements to enable its maintenance representative to receive such notification or provide an answering service or other continuous telephone coverage to permit the Government to make contact when services are required. A toll free number shall be provide for the Government?s use. The Government shall not be required to make chargeable long distance calls to receive service. Maintenance service shall not include electrical work external to the equipment. The Government shall provide storage space, including heat, light, ventilation, electrical outlets and local telephone service to the maintenance personnel. Remedial maintenance shall be performed after notification that equipment is in need of service. Notice will occur hours Monday-Friday between the hours of 0800 and 1700. Contractor shall respond within four (4) hours of notification for service. A Malfunction Report shall be provided to the Government POC/COR upon completion of each maintenance call. The report shall include the following information: date and time of notification; date and time of arrival; type and model of number of machine, time for repair, description of malfunction; list of part replaced; reason for response delay, if any? reason for repair, if any. The contractor must have a parts depot capable of providing 95% of all spare parts necessary to support each product. The contractor shall use only new or remanufactured and warranted as new parts in effecting repairs. Part swapping between inoperable and operable parts shall not be used as a procedure for fault isolation. The contractor shall furnish a list of personnel authorized to perform the service and their credentials. Award will be made to the technically acceptable offeror with the lowest price. Commercial clauses 52.212-1, 52.212-3, 52.212-4, 52.212-5 are incorporated by reference in this announcement.
