Description
The SIC for the solicitation is 5074 and the NAICS is 421720 (Size 100 employees). The contractor shall provide all labor, material, equipment and supervision necessary for the rental of one water tube boiler capable of producing at least 70,000lb/hr of 160PSI steam MCR (maximum continuous rate). The boiler shall fire #5 fuel oil. The re ntal period shall be from October 1, 2001 to April 30, 2002, with the options thereafter to extend period shown in attachment 2: bid schedule. The boiler is to be located in the southeast corner of parking lot outside of building 604, Williams Road, U.S.M. A., West Point, New York, 10996. Placement of boiler shall be in accordance with attachment 1: work area layout. A minimum of six (6) feet of clearance shall be maintained on all sides of boiler from the walls of the parking lot. The boiler front shall fac e the east wall and the contractor shall be responsible for leveling the boiler. Dismantle and removal of materials shall be as required to support the work. Material shall be removed from west point and disposed of properly by the contractor The contractor shall: 1.) Provide stack, piping, and all electrical connections (steam, #5 fuel oil supply and return, feedwatwer, instrument air, atomizing air and steam, and electric) from southeast corner of parking lot to the boiler. Connections for steam, #5 fuel oil suppl y and return, and feedwater shall be with welded schedule 80 steel. Instrument air connection shall be copper. Atomizing air and steam shall be schedule 40 steel. 2.) Provide piping and connections to blowdown tank on other side of the east wall, as shown in attachment 1: work area layout with welded schedule 80 steel (approximately 60 linear feet from the southeast corner of the parking lot. 3.) Test and inspect by authorized green tag facility with green tag attached within the past 30 days from the time of delivery. Blowdown valves shall be of 2-valve protection type. 4.) Provide chemical feed tanks and injection equipment. Government shall provide chemicals. 5.) Provide a heated booth for one operator in case of inclement weather. The operator shall be able to view all boiler instrumentation from the booth. 6.) Provide training to 3 shifts of operators. Training shall include: basic operation, location of all equipment and controls. Contractor shall demonstrate all safety devices on initial startup ( e.g. low water cutout, low oil pressure, high water alarm, etc.). 7.) Be responsible for periodic (every two weeks) inspection and necessary maintenance of provided equipment. 8.) Be responsible for protecting his equipment from inclement weather. 9.) Aesthetically maintain the equipment. When installed, exterior of unit shall be clean, appropriately painted, and rust removed. 10.) Maintain the work area in a clean, neat and safe condition at all times during installation. All debris and other items not incorporated in the installation shall be removed at completion of installation. 11.) Disconnect all piping and other connections at end of rental period. 12.) Remove the boiler and all provided materials from the parking lot at the end of rental period. 13.) Provide a 24 hour, 7 day emergency service number with response time of no more than 2 hours. Liquidated damages shall be accessed at the rate of $1,000 per hour after the 2 hour response time. The contractor shall conclude installation service within 14 days of contract award date.
