Description

The Federal Bureau of Investigation intends to negotiate a sole source, firm-fixed price contract with Micronel Safety, Frederick, Maryland, under Request for Quote (RFQ) 0026489. This notice will be distributed solely through the General Services Administration's Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) web site http://www.fedbisopps.gov. Interested parties are responsible for monitoring the FBO site to ensure that they have the most up-to-date information about this acquisition. Micronel Safety is to provide the following items: 1) 100 each Part Number (P/N) M-60010-001-C420X-005CK-F, three speed blower (CASU); 2) 100 each P/N S-30013-001-30 inch breaching tube w/90 degree swivel; 3) P/N S-30019-001 ? 60x2 inch web belt; 4) 2,500 each P/N S-20036-001 ? Nickel metal hydride battery rechargable; 5) 1,300 each P/N S-20037-001 ? Single unit rapid charger; 6) 10 each P/N S-20038-001 ? Five Unit rapid charger; 7) 2,000 each P/N C-60026-001 ? Gray gasket for C420 filter inlet. FOB- Orgin, FBI Academy, HRT Building, Quantico, Virginia, 22135. Based on market research via catalogues, the World Wide Web sites, discussions with DoD, and trade shows, it has been determined that the FBI's requirement for the replacement of existing Micronel life safety equipment can only be provided by Micronel Safety, Frederick, Maryland. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, interested parties may identify their interests and capability to respond to this requirement or submit proposals to this office by 2:00 PM, EDT, Monday, September 24, 2001, via facsimile to the attention of Ms. Theresa M. Powell, Contracting Officer, (703) 632-1607. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The North American Industrial Classification System number is 421830, the size standard is 100 employees. This contract will be awarded as a commercial item in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation, Part 12. Telephone requests will not be accepted. See Note 22.
