Description

The Department of Veteran Affairs Medical Center San Francisco, CA intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under authority FAR 6.302, see Note 22. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation. A written solicitation will not be issued. The following is the salient charactertics of the item under this procurement requirement: (1) Genepix 4000B integrated array scanner which features: accepts standard microscope slides (1" x 3", 25 x 75 mm or 26 x 76mm; 22 x 71.5 mm scan area with user-define sub scans; dual laser excitation at 532 nm and 635 nm; alternative lasers; adjustable laser power; Dynamic laser power monitoring; Adjustable focus; Simultaneous scan of both wavelengths in 5 minutes (full scan area); Pixel resolution adjustable from 5 to 100 microns; 16-bit digitization; Dynamic range of 4 orders of magnitude; Pre-scan images to optimize scan conditions; scan line averaging; Image sets saved in multi-image TIFF format; Detection limit of 0.1 fluor/micron 2 for Cy3 and Cy5; Simple SCSI connection to PC computer (SCSI adapter included); Universal power supply (110/220V); Small footprint: 13.5" wide x 8.75" high x 17.5" deep (34.3 x 22.2 x 44.4cm) Approx. 35 lbs., Plug-in installation -- ready for immediate use. With three (3) copies of Genepix Pro Analysis Software consisting of: Pro 3.0 Array Analysis software; Windows 98, 2000, NT, and ME compatible; accepts 16-bit grayscale TIFF images from any scanner; Automatic registration of images, even from third party scanners. Displays ratio imges in real time during scanning.
