Description

The Social Security Administration intends to negotiate solely with The Gale Group, 27500 Drake Road, Farmington Hills, MI 48331 under the authority of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 13.106-1(b) ?Soliciting from a Single Source? for ownership rights to a specialized database provided by the Encyclopedia of Associations/Associations Unlimited. The period of performance is 12 months from date of award. The award is FOB Destination. The database contains over 144,000 detailed entries for organizations all over the world, including 23,000 U.S. national associations, 19,000 international associations, and 112 U.S. regional, state and local associations. Entries provide directory (e.g. phone, address) and descriptive (e.g. organization profile, conference schedule) information. The Contract Line Item Number (CLIN) description, and quantity are as follows: CLIN 0001 base file containing updated information, to be delivered on a tape format, qty: one(1); CLIN 0002 quarterly updates, to be delivered on a tape format, qty three (3). No other vendor of such a database is known to the Government. The Government anticipates the award of a firm-fixed price purchase order. Written responses to this synopsis shall contain sufficient documentation to establish a bonafide capability to fulfill this requirement. A solicitation is not available. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed order based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
