Description

Sources sought for bar coding equipment. The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Prosthetics and Sensory Aids Service (PSAS) is submitting the following Request for Sources to solicit bar coding demonstration equipment. PSAS has a need for bar coding equipment for inventory management for all VA medical centers. PSAS is considering standardizing on Symbol 4000 Series scanners, Zebra S400 and S600 bar code printers, and Dolphin 7600 hand held data terminals, but wants to determine if there are products that meet or exceed the quality of the aforementioned equipment. Once a decision has been made regarding the equipment which best meets our needs, VA intends to compete a blanket purchase agreement (BPA) between Federal Supply Schedule contractors. Contractors that do not have their products on FSS contracts will be eliminated from competition. A separate procurement may be issued for custom thermal transfer bar code labels.
