Description

The work consists of construction of a new 13,159 sq. ft. activity facility which will serve as a Collective Protection Annex. The function will be to serve as a positive air pressure facility providing a safe environment for elementary school students in the case of a chemical crisis. Demolition includes removal of a concrete sidewalk, 26 ft. long brick retaining wall, and a canopy over the sidewalk. The new building will be comprised of a pre-engineered metal structure over a concrete slab. Walls will be comprised of either gypsum board or cement board on metal stud walls and brick exterior veneer. Contract work will include all required site demolition, new building, mechanical yard to the south of the new building, and all finish grading. The magni tude is from $1,000,000 to $5,000,000. Issue date will be on or about October 10, 2001, and bids will be opened on or about November 9, 2001.
