Description

The U.S. Army Communications-Electronics Command (CECOM) Research Development, Engineering Center (RDEC) Intelligence and Information Warfare Directorate (I2WD) intends to award a new, Firm-Fixed Price, Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract for a period of five (5) years for the acquisition of Non-Developmental (NDI) X-Ray Systems, to include mobile X-Ray Vans and stationary X-Ray Systems for non-intrusive inspection for interdicting contraband traffic at airports and border crossings and intercepting drugs, explosives and other contraband in various packages and locations. The U.S. Army CECOM RDEC I2WD requires a commercial, low power (<160kV) x-ray system that provides simultaneous images. The mobile system must be self-contained and able to run on its own power or external power and must be able to maneuver and operate in close airport terminal environments. This requires that the system must meet airport height and width restrictions and have the capability to be operated from either side of the vehicle. The U.S. Army CECOM RDEC I2WD anticipates award in the third quarter of Fiscal Year 2002 following formal evaluation, to include a performance demonstration of proposed systems in January, 2002.
