Description

The U.S. Army RMAC Natick Contracting Division located in Natick, MA 01760-5011 intends to award a purchase order to Aerovironment Incorporated, 825 Myrtle Avenue, Monrovia, CA 91016 on a basis of other than full and open competition (reference Federal Acq uisition Regulation Subpart 6.302-1) for a one (1) year service contract for repair and replacement of parts on the government owned Pointer Unmanned Air Vehicle (UAV). The Army Military Operations in Urban Terrain (MOUT) office purchased a Pointer UAV sys tem and utilizes it in various test and experiment training exercises. The MOUT office has allowed other Department of Defense offices to utilize the system for testing/training as well. During test and/or training exercises the Pointer UAV is likely to become damaged. The purpose of this purchase order will be for repair and parts replacement of the Pointer UAV on an as needed basis throughout a one (1) year period of performance. Aerovironment Inc. is the sole manufacturer and distributor of the Point er UAV and is determined to be the only source capable of providing the services required by the government. No quotation document is available for this acquisition. Reference note 22; as this is a simplified acquisition, all responses shall be received within eight (8) days after publication of this notice.
