- Description
- This project will consist of grading, drainage and asphalt surfacing on 7.620 kilometers of roadway for Young-North Highway in Tonto National Forest, Gila County, State of Arizona. Estimated price range is between $3,000,000 and $7,000,000. Principal work items consist of: lump sum survey and staking; lump sum contractor testing; 9,000 m3 watering for dust control; 21.0 hectare clearing and grubbing; 140,000 m3 roadway excavation; 1,105 m3 placed riprap (various); 2,300 m2 MSE wall, welded wire face; 23,500 metric tons aggregate base; 6,000 metric tons aggregate surface course; 430 metric tons asphalt cement grade PG 64-22; 6,700 metric tons superpave asphalt concrete pavement, 12.5 mm or 19 mm nominal maximum size aggregate; 350 m2 temporary shoring; 1,590 m pipe culvert (various mm lengths); 3,100 geocomposite sheet drain system; 150 each pipe anchor assembly (various mm lengths); 800 m Portland cement concrete curb; 2,500 m guardrail system G4 (wood posts); 23 m bridge transition railing; 10,500 m barbed wire fence; gates; 8 each cattle guards (various); major equipment operators (600 hours-various); seeding; mulching; temporary irrigation system; signing; and traffic control. All bid forms, bid bonds, and other documents required for the bid submittal shall be submitted to FHWA in paper format. Electronic format for the bid submittal documents will not be allowed. Amendments to this solicitation will be issued in paper format to all plan holders and will be posted on the website listed in line 18 of this submittal. The Department of Transportation (DOT) Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU), has programs to assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short-term working capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontractor at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, performance and payment bonds up to $1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80% guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses. Loans are also available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $500,000.
