Description

Work consists essentially of extending the river chamber by removing and reinstalling two (2) existing upstream miter gates, replacing the existing guard wall, constructing a flow control dike in the downstream pool, and demolishing and removing the existing upstream guard wall. The new guard wall will be constructed with pre-cast beams resting on concrete filled cells or concrete filled drilled shafts. Demolition work will include excavation and disposal of 23,000 cubic yards of concrete and stone materials. New guard wall construction will include 4,000 12,000 cubic yards of concrete placement, depending upon the contractor's declared alternative. The construction of the flow control dike will include the placement of 8,000 23,000 cubic yards of concrete rubble or new stone materials, depending upon the contractor's declared alternative. Quantities shown are estimates only. All responsive proposals will be evaluated utilizing the following factors: (A) Planned Technical Execution of Key Work Elements; (B) Experience and Past Performance and (C) Project Management, Quality Control, Key Personnel, Schedule Control and Safety. The cost of this project is between $10,000,000 and $25,000,000. Delivery shall be completed within 450 calendar days after receipt of notice to proceed. Solicitation documents will be issued on CD and will be available 05 October 2001. There will be no charge for solicitation documents.
